This campaign is performed using three personas and is based in my community; one that is encumbered with so many problems that they seem insurmountable. Voting is a way that you can touch on the most of issues that cause us to harm one another. In my Congressional District 5, 35% of the adult population was not registered to vote. A District of mostly persons of color whose ancestors sacrificed so much, and many their lives, so that we could have the right to vote. This project also allows me to measure the impact of art.
It comes with it a full set of operation orders that borrows its terminology from our arm forces because of the relentless offensive we are up against in trying to realize a just society. For this reason, Sargent Agape goes to malls, high schools and other places you might find an army-recruiting officer. And she attempts to enlist people by handing out information, making buttons on premises and giving out self stamped voter registration cards to citizens that are not registered to vote. Lady Liberty, goes to heavily populated retail districts and advertises the opportunity for Liberty. She might hand out a flyer with voting information, a registration card or even information on where to get free citizenship filing assistance. Lately, she has not been feeling well so she might set up a space on the sidewalk outside of a store and ask for help making buttons for the public to take and talk to with whoever will listen about how someone can help her. Community Organizer Jones. She goes out into the street and depending on the day, she might make screen print posters or tee shirts or tote bags and teach anyone who wants to learn how to do it. People who are intrigued, ask her what is she doing and why. That is when she tells them about her voting campaign and how important it is for everyone to register and vote.
